Cloud Event: Cloud 101 - A Call To Action

Each year I'm fortunate enough to speak at several industry events. This week, I’ll be participating in the Digital Government hosted event "Cloud 101: A Call to Action”. The event takes place Wednesday, March 30 at the Reagan Building in DC.

There will be some very interesting speakers at this event. General Meyerrose (USAF (Ret.) is giving the keynote "Ensuring Trust and Control: Removing the Last Barrier to the Cloud". The General is an extremely entertaining speaker and I'm sure will have some very interesting insights to share, both in his current role as GM of Harris Corp's Cyber Integration Solutions and from his time as CIO for the Director of National Intelligence.

My panel is scheduled to begin at 11:00am EDT and is titled "Launching your Government Cloud". The panel will be moderated by Kapil Bakshi (Chief Solution Architect at Cisco) and will include Steven Hill from Terremark, Curtis Levinson from Qwest and Kaushik Ray from Savvis. It should be an entertaining session for sure. Kapil is an excellent moderator, and I'm looking forward to pushing the envelope a little beyond the typical cloud group think in the industry.

I'd also like to introduce Paul Roberts, our Lead Cloud Architect. Paul has started blogging and it’s definitely well worth linking to your RSS feed. Paul is involved in our more complex cloud installs and on-boarding activities, as well as driving the architecture for InstantOn.

Next week, I’ll get back to the normal schedule of blogging with a couple of interesting posts showing real world uses of our advanced networking capabilities.
