Privacy Policy

Carpathia Hosting, Inc. and our affiliated companies (“Carpathia”) are committed to respecting the online privacy of the users of Carpathia’s websites (“Users”). Carpathia recognizes Users need for appropriate protection of any personally identifiable information Personally Identifiable Information given to or obtained by Carpathia. Therefore, Carpathia shall adhere to the following privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) so Users know how Carpathia intends to treat Users’ Personally Identifiable Information.

 

Personally Identifiable Information means any information that there is a reasonable basis to believe may be used to identify, distinguish or trace a User individually. Carpathia uses reasonable efforts to comply with all applicable laws around the world that are designed to protect the privacy of Personally Identifiable Information.

1.  Notice:
Carpathia receives Personally Identifiable Information from prospective customers and other persons located in the European Union who may be interested in a business relationship with Carpathia.  This Personally Identifiable Information comes from website visits, email, live chat and other means.  Carpathia uses this Personally Identifiable Information to contact those persons about potential business transactions, for operations purposes and to improve the way our services are marketed.

 


When Carpathia collects Personally Identifiable Information on the web, Carpathia intends to post a notice to the User explaining the purpose of collecting Personally Identifiable Information  and whether Carpathia plans to transfer such Personally Identifiable Information with a third party. Carpathia does not intend to transfer to third parties (unless such third party is acting on Carpathia’s behalf) Personally Identifiable Information without the consent of the User except when the transfer of such Personally Identifiable Information is legally required.

 

Where and how we capture data:
Some of Carpathia’s web pages use “cookies” or other tracking technologies. A “cookie” is a binary file Carpathia uses to recall information, which may include Personally Identifiable Information, previously provided by a User so that the User is not required to provide the information again when navigating a Carpathia web site. Users may be able to configure their internet browsers to notify the User if they’ve received a cookie and/or block the cookie. Users who choose not to accept cookies may be unable to access certain options, offers, and services that involve Carpathia interaction with that User. Tracking technologies may record information such as internet domain and host names; Internet protocol (IP) addresses; browser software and operating system types; clickstream patterns; and dates and times that the Carpathia sites are accessed. Carpathia uses cookies and other tracking technologies to improve Carpathia’s web site and Users’ web experience. Carpathia may also analyze information that does not contain PII for trends and statistics.

 


Carpathia’s web sites are not structured to attract children and Carpathia does not intend to collect Personally Identifiable Information from any User Carpathia knows to be under 13 years of age.



2. Choice:
Users may choose (opt out) whether or not to provide Personally Identifiable Information to Carpathia. The notice Carpathia intends to provide is intended to assist the User to make the choice whether or not provide Personally Identifiable Information. Users who choose not to provide Carpathia Personally Identifiable Information may be unable to access certain options, offers, and services that involve Carpathia interaction with that User.

 


3. Onward Transfer:
If a User chooses to provide Carpathia with their Personally Identifiable Information, Carpathia may transfer that Personally Identifiable Information within Carpathia and to Carpathia’s third-party service providers, including across borders, and from a User’s country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world.  Carpathia does not intend to sell Personally Identifiable Information without the User’s consent.

 

4.  Access:
Carpathia will allow an individual access to their Personally Identifiable Information and allow the individual to correct, amend or delete inaccurate information, except where the burden or expense of providing access would be disproportionate to the risks to the privacy of the individual in the case in question or where the rights of persons other than the individual would be violated.  Any individual who has provided Personally Identifiable Information to Carpathia may request to correct amend, or delete inaccurate information by contacting Carpathia at legal@carpathia.com.



5.  Security:
Wherever Personally Identifiable Information is retained by Carpathia (or by a third party on Carpathia’s behalf), Carpathia intends to take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the Personally Identifiable Information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.  Carpathia cannot guarantee the security of information on or transmitted over the Internet.  Carpathia may ask Users to provide credit card information through www.prohosters.com and this credit card is encrypted for its protection prior to its transmission over the internet.



6.  Data Integrity:
Carpathia shall only process Personally Identifiable Information in a way that is compatible with and relevant for the purpose for which it was collected or authorized by the individual. To the extent necessary for those purposes, Carpathia shall take reasonable steps to ensure that Personally Identifiable Information is accurate, complete, current and reliable for its intended use.



7.  Enforcement:
Carpathia uses a self-assessment approach to assure compliance with this privacy policy and periodically verifies that the policy is accurate, comprehensive for the information intended to be covered, prominently displayed, completely implemented and accessible and in conformity with the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles.



Carpathia's privacy policy directs all individuals with questions and concerns regarding its privacy policy to contact Carpathia for resolution.  In the event the individual is not satisfied with Carpathia's internal dispute resolution process, Carpathia intends to cooperate fully with reasonable requests from the EU Data Protection Authorities.
