Senior Information Security Engineer
Carpathia Hosting Inc. is looking for a Senior Information Security Engineer for our corporate headquarters in Dulles, VA.
As a key member of the engineering team you will be directly responsible for the execution of security processes, tool selection and implementation. Communication with customers and vendors in a clear and professional manner is an absolute must.

Primary Responsibilities: -
- Design and Implement Security Operations Procedures (SOP)
- Work with the 24*7 Security Operations Center (SOC) team to execute SOP’s
- Provide Guidance and prioritization of remediation activities for SOC and Engineering resources
- Work closely with the system and network teams to identify and mitigate potential security issues
- Interact with vendor technical support groups to resolve issues
Other Responsibilities for the Security team: -
· Carpathia Hosting Corporate network security architecture
· Develop internal training and mentor other Security engineering team members
· After hours escalation for SOC team
In addition to general Microsoft Office and Visio experience we require:

Experience with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the following products
- Cisco / Juniper IDS/IDP
- Cisco / Juniper Firewalls

Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation of
- Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems
- VMware / Citrix XEN hypervisors
- Configuration and operation of tools such as Tripwire, Nessus, Retina, Gold Disk, Qualys, Splunk, Arcsight
- Experience building systems to meet various compliance standards such as FISMA / DIACAP / PCI / HIPAA
- Experience with Cloud & Virtualization Security a plus
Technical Certifications requested
· CISSP preferred
General Qualifications:
- 8 years of progressive security engineering experience
- BS / BA in a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check
